Meet the Person

Hello! I’m Andrea Laurel Ives, the creator of alives. Sharing a little of my history will help you understand why alives was created.

Global awareness has grown and developed within me from over fifty years of teaching in Canada. Prior to becoming an Ontario Certified Teacher with additional qualifications in Special Education and Counselling, I taught for three years in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. My parents and two siblings were also Ontario Certified Teachers. We traveled internationally as a family unit experiencing many cultures and sharing rewarding adventures together.

After graduating twice from Western University in London Ontario (B.A.; B.Ed.), I complemented my teaching career with self-employment opportunities in my athletic and artistic interests. These enterprises included Live-F.I.T.T. with Ali (1986), Ali’s Actionwear (1988), Just TRI’ n’ Du It! (1990), and LEARN @ HOME Education Services (2003). In 2021, I launched my latest business venture: alives. The resource platform alives is an amalgamation of my former academic and athletic businesses, my personal international athletic adventures, my artistic interests and my altruistic nature.

While building a private education services practice, my mission was to encourage others to live their lives to the fullest. Initially developed in Southwestern and Central Ontario my private practice relocated to Eastern Ontario in 2012. Early in 2017, I authored a handbook entitled: The 5 Rs of Education: Guiding Children BEYOND Reading writing & arithmetic TOWARD Reflection and Resilience. In the eBook/paperback I shared my “Top Ten Handy Tips” in each of the 5 Rs of Education. Published by Black Card Books in Toronto, ON, it became available for purchase in March 2020.

Vision

Sharing my strength, hope and experience (S.H.E.) with individuals who are curious to explore the magical blend of mindfulness and humanitarianism. Offering master classes, webinars, and tutorials created and offered on a resource platform, many will discover useful tips and tools to optimize their lives.

Spreading positivity is rewarding and necessary: we can all LEARN to optimize our lives with the support, encouragement, and guidance from mentors, leaders, and from those who dare to dream big.

Inclusive Coaching

Leading with integrity, seeing others as unique individuals is what alives offers along with the honesty, reliability, and humility available through 1:1 coaching. Focused attention to clients’ needs and strict confidentiality policies along with accessibility and adaptability have given me the freedom to exceed clients’ expectations. Immense satisfaction fills my heart when clients demonstrate the courage to collaborate and accomplish goals through innovative practices.

Quality time spent with my four grandchildren, daughter and son-in-law as well as my Super-Senior father includes our support of the Terry Fox Foundation which provides funds for cancer research.
